Centralized System Issues (Resolved)
Currently, a number of centralized services such as e-mail, DUNK, web hosting, and dCal are experiencing issues.
As of this moment, OIT was unavailable for contact regarding these problems. We will update this page as soon as we know more.

dCal & Other Services Down - 3/3/09
A number of services are currently down due to a hardware issue on one of OIT's servers (most notably dCal and Novell storage). Copied from their outage alert (which will provide updates to the problem as well):
A current issue with one of the Duke Storage Arrays may effect dCal, wiki.duke.edu, Novell file access, windows media services, web hosting, AFS and webfiles. Access in some cases and fucntionality in others will be affected in varying degrees and other systems may be affected.OIT is addressing the issue, currently there is no ETA for resolution
Planned dCal Outage 1/31
Our primary calendar software, dCal, will be unavailable Jan 31, 2009 from 8:00am - 12:00pm due to scheduled maintenance. Users will be unable to connect to the service during this time. All web, desktop, and hand held device clients will be affected.

Duke E-mail Outage (resolved)
A select few users of ACPUB e-mails (netid@duke.edu) may have trouble accessing their e-mail through Thunderbird and Webmail. We have contacted OIT and they are aware of the issue. They do not currently have an ETA on the issue, but they are working on resolving it.
Sorry for the inconvenience,

Network Outage on 12/19/08
OIT Network Services will be performing an upgrade to our network infrastructure on Friday, December 19th from 5-6pm. This upgrade will result in a brief network outage for Teer, Hudson, and FCIEMAS. Pratt IT will be on-hand to assist if needed.
Matlab License Renewals
If you are a user of Matlab, you are probably aware of the fact that the license for Matlab is expiring on December 1, 2008.
OIT has renewed the license (and changed the policy so that it will expire in the summer instead of right before the end of the semester).
Pratt IT has now set up a license server on a virtual machine which will allow us to centralize the license for Matlab. This will allow us to update the license when necessary, allowing users to be free from worrying about expiring licenses annually.
However, what this will require is that we update the license on all machines running Matlab. So, if you use any version of Matlab and are currently seeing a warning "Your MATLAB license will expire in x days," we will have to take a look at your machine.
