Archibus is used for building drawings

Three duplicate setups - Production, Train, and Rec(onciliation)

Rec is used for large jobs (printing, things like that) so it can be frozen

Thing To Do (as of 3/27/04)

1. Create File Server/Novell Groups and permissions
2. Custom files need to be put in custom folder
a. custom folder is a root level folder for custom reports. acad folder is a subfolder to allow inheieted permissions.
3. Create Custom ACAD directory
4. Get Tony access - followup on novell account
5. Setup Train and Rec folders and decide on how they should sync
a. Perhaps give Julia a batch file to copy over the folders (one for train and one for rec)
6. Setup an install folder to store new version of Archibus when campus upgrades and also to apply patches
a. Should be read all user write admin
7. Setup permissions on projects files
8. Cleanup wikis
9. Tony is NOT an admin - giv etony a work directory
10. Tony has write access to Univ ?WorkDrawings for him to edit drawings and read only in the production folders

Installation

Basic Archibus Setup

Mount \\archibus.pratt.duke.edu\archibus as drive T: Login using Duke NetID (eventually - not setup on backend yet)

Install Oracle 8 client Only from the oracle folder

Choose Application User setup All other defaults are OK

Cancel out of Net Configuration screen (already configured on server end)

In T:\afm11\bin\ run SETUPNODE.EXE

Choose the default Client setup option. It will appear to hang as it writes extensively to the windows registry. Be patient.

Copy T:\floppy\Tnsnames.ora to C:\oracle\ora81\network\ADMIN

Restart when prompted.
