Matlab License Renewals
If you are a user of Matlab, you are probably aware of the fact that the license for Matlab is expiring on December 1, 2008.
OIT has renewed the license (and changed the policy so that it will expire in the summer instead of right before the end of the semester).
Pratt IT has now set up a license server on a virtual machine which will allow us to centralize the license for Matlab. This will allow us to update the license when necessary, allowing users to be free from worrying about expiring licenses annually.
However, what this will require is that we update the license on all machines running Matlab. So, if you use any version of Matlab and are currently seeing a warning "Your MATLAB license will expire in x days," we will have to take a look at your machine.
If you find that your installation of Matlab is going to expire or is no longer working, please create a ticket online through the "Create a ticket" link above and let us know:
- The location of the machine(s)
- The OS running on the machine(s)
- The version(s) of Matlab currently installed.
- If the machine is a laptop (Pratt-owned), does it ever need Matlab when off of the Duke network?
Users of Matlab on laptops that travel off of the Duke network can be given a local license which will then require a yearly update as the license changes.
Thanks
