What hardware is used in the Pratt servers? (outdated)

This page is used to outline the configuration of our existing systems and the proposed configuration of new systems. This is for enterprise servers only. This is NOT a hardware catalog for end users!

Current Barebones Standard
For new systems, we should be getting the following setup to start with.

1U: Computer & Control Solutions (CCS Inc.) RC0103 Chassis
2U: Computer & Control Solutions (CCS Inc.) RC0222-L2M2R4 Chassis
Tyan Thunder K7X (S2468GN) w/o integrated SCSI
PC2100 DDR SRAM from Corsair
For IDE based systems
RAID-5: 3Ware 7500-4/8/12 RAID Card
RAID-0 or 1: Adaptec 2400A RAID or 3Ware 7500-2 RAID
Western Digital Special Edition IDE drives w/ 8MB cache or Seagate 21A drives (for smaller setups)
For SCSI Based Systems
Mylex 170 RAID Card (subject to change)
Seagate Cheetah Drives (Ultra160 or higher)

Zope Server
This unit will need sizable storage, memory and CPU power. Lets utilize some mid sized IDE drives on a 3Ware RAID (since we can't afford SCSI for this right now)

1GB PC2100 DDR RAM
2x40-80GB Seagate 21A or WD Spec Edition drives for OS and non Zope DB partitions

Software Development
Server Pretty much the same as Zope setup. Need lots of storage and some CPU power.

Novell Server
Lets go 2U with this, but only 2 drives in RAID-1 formation. If we find that we want to store MORE on this, we can move the data to a 4 drive RAID-5 partition.
